We’re searching for boards that have broken the mould to create bold and
innovative governance solutions. Be recognized for your superior governance,
and share your answers to today’s compliance and governance challenges
with the experts and your peers.
Superior corporate governance is about more than a process to meet regulatory requirements. It
is essential planning for the long-term success and sustainability of the enterprise, be it large or
small, private or public. At its best, effective governance can add value and contribute to organizational
performance and effectiveness.
The Conference Board of Canada/Spencer Stuart 2007 National Awards in Governance
single out bold and innovative solutions to the latest governance challenges, and the organizations
that have broken new ground in the search for governance excellence. The awards celebrate
governance innovation and excellence in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, and
one organization is selected as the overall winner.
The awards were created six years ago, in recognition of the importance of governance as a fundamental
element of good business practice. One of their goals is to foster improved governance
practices, by raising the profile of active and innovative boards and showcasing their accomplishments.
The awards also provide an opportunity for the innovators to share their experience and
results with others, and help define ‘next best practices’ in governance.
