Hailey's
Poem .....
I've Seen War
The streets were lit
By fire in the sky
As the buildings fell
Where the heroes lie
Many were lost
Never to be found
Beneath the crime
Not a sound
Hopes are high
And Pride is low
As few survivors are found
Emotions will show
Questions need
answering
Nothing yet
With no one to blame
Angry we'll get
Up until today
All war was, was a story
Of hate. In killing
There is no glory
No glory in
war
No glory in hate
To learn this lesson well
How long will it take
This world we
live in
Will never be the same
After September 11th
When the evil came
Revenge is wanted
By all who lost
Mothers, fathers, children
Died at what cost
Hate is alive
I never knew it so well
Someone is to blame
For putting the innocent through hell
Clues were found
Here and there
No evidence strong enough
For the people who care
For on this
day
I will always remember
To stop and think of
Those who died in September
Up until today
I had never known war
My eyes have been opened
Today I saw war
